Max's owner was a retired doctor who sadly died recently and the immediate family are unable to take Max as they have dogs of their own.
Max has led a rather quiet life as he was very much a one-man-dog but he is reported as being very good with adults (he's not had much exposure to children); as we now have him in foster-care with Alison, his social skills with other dogs and with humans have been assessed as excellent
Max walks well on the lead, knows 'sit, 'stay' etc and he recalls to the whistle. He travels well in the car and he can be left without problem.
Max is docked and vaccinated and at the moment he is entire.
Max cannot be regarded as trustworthy with cats.
Max is a very friendly and appealing boy and will make someone a fantastic pet. We are looking for a home possibly with an active retired person/couple where Max will get lots of walks and be the centre of attention.
If you would like to learn more about Max, please telephone (NOT email) UK Rescue Co-ordinator Ian Roberts on 01359 253565 to discuss.
Max is currently being fostered in Hertfordshire.
