Giving up a German Wirehaired Pointer for Adoption

Postby GWPRescue on Sun Apr 27, 2008 7:21 pm

If you have a GWP that you wish to give up for adoption the first step should be to approach the breeder of the dog. If this is not possible or the breeder declines responsibility then please contact the GWPC UK Rescue Co-ordinator Ian Roberts.

Please be prepared to provide full details of the dog, name of breeder, reason for wanting to re-home, any health problems, vaccination/microchipping status, temperament, and any behavioural problems. Please also indicate the level of urgency of the re-homing. It is of great help (and usually better for the dog) if the animal can remain with its original family until arrangements can be made for it to go to its new home. If this is not possible then GWPC Rescue may be able to make arrangements for the dog to be fostered.

Registration papers and pedigree documents must be forwarded to GWPC Rescue together with a completed Release Form before any action can be taken to re-home a dog. Persons releasing a dog to GWPC Rescue will be invited to make a donation to Rescue funds, to assist with our work with other GWPs in need of help.
