Little is known of Diesel's early life; he was acquired by his present family earlier this year from Scotland where he was living with with his GWP litter sister. His new owners were assured by the previous owners that both dogs came from the same litter and that Diesel is a GWP who looks like a GSP. That really is the extent of our knowledge of his antecedents.
Diesel is a much-loved family pet but he does suffer from separation anxiety and as his family are unable to be with him 24/7 have most reluctantly decided that it would be in Diesel's best interests to seek a new home for him.
Diesel is docked, castrated, microchipped and vaccinated and is very fit and healthy; he is described as being very good with people (including children - he lives with a three-year-old) and with other dogs.
It is understood that Diesel had been trained to flush game by his Scottish owners; his current owners have continued to train him and he knows basic commands, walks to heel on the lead and comes when called. He is considered to have no real vices other than the separation anxiety.
Diesel has been met and assessed by a senior member of GWPC Rescue who confirms all the foregoing and believes Diesel to be a delightful dog who will bring much pleasure to whoever is lucky enough to have him.
We are seeking a home for Diesel where there is someone around most of the time and where he won't be left alone (possibly with another dog) and where his separation anxiety can be addressed.
All prospective homes will be checked for suitability.
If you would like to discuss Diesel please telephone (NOT email) UK Rescue Co-ordinator Ian Roberts on 01359 253565.
Diesel is in the Midlands.
